I'm told I'm wrong, but my kids and I will tell you otherwise...we talk to my late husband all the time. We believe some of the things that happen (wiper-blades on the car will come on "by themselves" and the light will flash for "no reason"...then about a mile up the road there will be sheep or deer in the road--by the way, the van has been to the mechanics and came home with a diagnosis of there isn't any electrical or other mechanical problems). The lights will go on and off in our house, also.
About two weeks ago when I was having a really hard time dealing with my husband being gone, we all heard him say, "I'm right here with you, watching and waiting. I told you I'd always take care of you"
It was kinda freaky at first, but he's been hanging around, moving things, freaking out the dogs (they'll wag their tails and bark at nothing), moving things (he was always an "everything in it's place " type guy.

In my belief system it may be possible but very difficult.
After they leave their body their spiritual essence leaves - moves to a plane of higher vibrations and it is almost impossible to come back except to inhabit a new body.
Also I'm thinking that once someone has left behind all connections to our plane of existence - all relationships, cares, responsibilities etc. are gone - their priorities would change and they would probably not feel any need to communicate.
That being said, the night after my father died I had a very vivid dream in which he came to visit me and we sat and drank wine and talked in my kitchen. I don't know if this was just a dream, or if he was still hanging around and was able to spend a little time before moving on.

No, no.
Talking, contacting the dead falls under Spiritualism a form of practice condemned by God. Read the story of the Witch of Endor when Samuel was wanting to contact that prophet who had died. Apparently those are demons impersonating people.
Hopefull we'll see our loved ones in the Resurrection when Jesus returns.

Some say yes, in our thoughts we can. And some say that this is real. Two books which may help;
Wanderer in the Spirit Lands by Frachezzo and
You Live After Death by Harold Sherman
Good luck!

I don't believe in the existence of an afterlife, so I don't think you can communicate with the dead. I think people who prey on those who have such a weakness (John Edward, Sylvia Browne, et al.) are scum.

Be careful what you wish for. It could be the most expensive mistake you'll ever make. Those charlatans will bleed you dry and laugh behind your back while they're doing it.

Nope, not according to the bible...
Ecclesiastes 9:5 “For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.”

No. Although it did happen once in the Bible, when Saul talked with the dead prophet Samuel. But that was really an exception to the rule.
