I know for sure that many disagree with the biblical sabbathday of the Lord and that is your choice. In light of all the scriptures that pertain to this blessed day God made at creation of this planet for man it brings us to him. Why ? It shows that we are created not just by and intelligent design but by a wise and intelligent God. In exodus 20:8-11 & hebrews 4;1-9 , the sabbath put us in memory of his power to creat and give us structure in work eithics and finally rest from our labours and works after six days. Who wouldn't want to just rest and be reminded that God is ever for us to bless us. After all that is why he told Israel to keep it , Ezekiel 20;20 "And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God". So I firmly know that there wouldn't be any Atheist If the sabbathday of the Lord was kept without controversy in all generations. Now sunday the first day can be traced to sun-worshipping and Constintine the great.

Gen. 2:1-3, "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventhday God ended his work which he created and made; and he rested on the seventhday from all his work which he made. And God blessed the seventhday, and sanctified it (set apart for holy purpose): because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made".

Exodus 20:8-11," Remember the sabbathday to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: In it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is with in thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth , the sea,and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day; wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbathday and hallowed it ".

Of course, there would be! To keep the Sabbath holy has got nothing to do with being an atheist. Besides, the Sabbath was established for the Jew, not for the Gentiles.
That's why the Sabbath was given as a sign between God and the Jews. It's true that there are Atheists among Jews, but because they are fools.

Sounds like you are quite the bible expert, but you missed the most important part. The part about it's being a made up fairy tale from bronze age sheep herders in the middle east to explain the mysteries of lightening and thunder (among other things).

The bible is a mish-mash of sumerian, hebrew, persian, egyptian, and other myths about man and gods (not just one as is commonly believed).

Sorry, but the book, although interesting, is not the infallible word of an all powerful creator. Its just stories.

The sabbath is Saturday anyway (maybe that's why god is mad, because Christians moved it to Sunday).

Let's quote some more from Hebrews 4:

3) "For we which have believed do enter into rest"

10) "For he that IS entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from HIS OWN WORKS, as God did from his".

Those who believe HAVE entered into rest, knowing that "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not OF yourselves: it is the gift OF God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast."; Eph 2:8-9. Jesus Christ is our rest/Sabbath. These things contained within the law were a shadow of that which was to come; Jesus the Christ.

As far as Atheists, 1st Peter 2:8, "And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient::::::WHEREUNTO ALSO THEY WERE APPOINTED".

Verse 9, then tells us that those who worship in Spirit and in truth are "a chosen generation". Who did the choosing? God did the choosing; Ephesians 1:4, "According as he hath chosen us IN HIM before the foundation of the world".

John 6:37, Jesus said, "ALL that the Father giveth me SHALL COME TO ME; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out".

There is no room for any man to boast in this truth!!

Jesus himself broke the sabbath day law. Yes there would still be atheist. I always wondered why an omnipotent being, regarded as all knowing and all powerful, needed to take a break after only 6 days of work.

Well, sure. When the Messiah was here, the common people heard Him gladly, but only a few accepted Him. Likewise, if you present His truth, some will come, and the many will go. It is true that when we do not present the complete truths of Scripture, (including the annual Sabbaths that the Catholic Church did away with) we send a mixed message. We don't have the power of the whole truth behind the message

I thought Sunday was for watching The Simpsons? but hey everyone uses what they need to feel better about themselves.

I know there wouldn't be any Christians if they followed Atheist beliefs.

Its meaningless what you say.

The day of your sabbath has nothing whatsoever to do with atheism. You could make every day of the week a sabbath day and we still wouldn't succumb to the delusion.

Rather than arguing about which day should be the sabbath, how about commencing to provide some convincing EVIDENCE of your god's existence?

That's the MAIN reason why people deny the truth claims of your (or indeed, any) religion -- you simply haven't proven your case...

You atheists in reality can go to church whenever, I'll still be a true atheist, trying to help you with your misconceptions.
The bible was written by man, man isn't perfect, surely he didn't get anything written there right in the first place.

Ex Seventh Day Adventist here, now an Atheist. The Seventh day position cannot be held logically, if you reject the practice of stoning relatives who don't follow your religion.......

Atheists are a result of a lack of evidence, not Sunday worship.

The call to return to Sabbath worship was issued in a revelation by a woman who plagiarized Sunday worshipers text and then called them visions from God.
