There's no such thing as a selfless act. Everything we do involves some kind of "payback." When we help others, we feel good about ourselves. When we give into what a friend wants to do, that we have no interest in, we avoid an argument or tell ourselves we're being the "better" person. And on and on . . .
Some selfish acts harm others, some don't hurt anyone, some help others. Those are the only differences.

By addressing life from a perspective of totality. Each and every person regardless of race or creed has something meaningful to contribute to society. No prejudices for the rich or poor. Every human being is part of the whole and the strength of humanity is exemplified in its weakest link. Ethical and moral standards encompass what is beneficial to everyone, not special interests. Selflessness is not for individuals but for the whole world.

It's hard. Sometimes it is instinctual, when it comes to your spouse or children or loved ones, or those who are truly suffering where you can identify your ability to help them.
Sometimes you have to put some thought and sacrifice into it, and it is a difficult decision to make. But it can be done with prayer.
