As a member of the US Army, Jim H and bpsgirl, you dont know what you are talking about. I have nothing but respect for Muslims. Its people like you that bring hate into this world with your stereotypes. He said he was muslim, not a terrorist. NEWFLASH: Not all Muslims are terrorists. NEWSFLASH: There are quite a few Muslims fighting our United States Military. Dont try telling someone to be sensitive to others, when you are only being sensitive to them based on your racist and prejudice steretypes.

For the original question. There can be many reason why they will not let you build there. Most areas around cemetarys is zones for residential use only.
There may be prolems with the size of the Mosque you want to build.
Or it could be a problem with the local historic society. Some parts of older cities will only let buildings that look a certain way be built. And even after they are built they can only be painted certain colors. Have certain trees planted.

There are many regulations for you to follow. Im sure if you ask the local officials what the problem is, they will guide you in the right direction.
Good luck. As-salam Alaikum.

I am sure I don't know what the problem was with building the Mosque across from a cemetery any cemetery, but it could be zoning or something to do with historical preservation of the area, I don't mind a Mosque it would be the same as building a Church or Synagogue in the neighborhood. Before you go protesting anything why don't you find out the reason your request was denied, and I doubt it was because you refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance to the flag, although that would bother me, you can at least stand out of respect for the country you live in...

How about building a mosque in Iraq or Afghanistan or any other muslim land. I don't want to be nice to Muslims anymore, I'm tired of it. Ive been to Iraq twice and Im done with you. Build it somewhere away from people so i dont have to hear praise allah (i left is not capitalized on purpose)

It may have been denied because the plan was unsuitable, rather than because the idea was unsuitable. If you want to build a collossal minaret in a town of 2 story houses for example, it won't go down very well.

Check why it was denied. They are required to list why you where denied the permitting. them you can challenge the decision, don't just assume that it was denied because you are Muslim.
