Before you complain to the library, understand that most library books are donations. Perhaps the reason your library does not have the Quran is because no one has donated one.

Rather than complain, and get nowhere, the dignant thing to do might be to bring the fact they have no copy of the Quran to the library association's attention and then be the one that donates at least on copy of the Quran to said library.

If you want the library to have a Quran, buy one and donate it to the library. Especially if it is a small town library, they might have just not thought to get one.

the funding that provides the books for the library...

the library board that chooses the materials for the library...

many items are listed as not acceptable due to the violent content, subject matter etc..

also, if such where in the library there would be complaints of " it is not handled properly", it was placed next to a ( whatever type book) and this is offensive...blah blah..... teen age kids scribed bad words in it....dropped it on the floor....etc....some one with unclean hands handled the book.....

it is not worth the hassle.....

No need to complain. Go to the circulation desk and tell them you have a request for a book. They will give you a form to fill out. That simple. Sometimes, they need more than one request, but if you state without being whiney why you want it, they will usually put it on the next list of books to buy. Good Luck!

my library has a bible, a Koran, a book of mormon and a JW scriptures. Its very enlightened.

I think you should complain - it is your right.

But please BE polite about it. The worst they can do is take away your library card and ban you from enetering any library.

Offense will get you nowhere but you can respectfully speak with the person in charge at your local library and ask if they can add a copy of the Quran to their collection.
Kindness works miracles so please let go of your negative feelings.
I wish you peace!

Request they stock it and they will.

I like how I get a thumbs down for that. It's a library. That's where books are located. Even books you may not have an interest in. Imagine that! Ppl in USA are free to make up their own minds and follow their own beliefs? Why that's just un-American!

Well, in some parts of the Middle East Bibles are not even allowed into the country. As a matter of fact, non-Muslims are not allowed into Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, perhaps the ancient principle of reciprocity should be brought back.

Before you get offended, just ask them why they don't have it and if they can order it. Most libraries are limited on the books they can get, but will try to please their customers. If they refuse to do it for some specific reason, especially if it sounds like they're being discriminatory, then I would complain!
