As a recovering addict, I can tell you that we are masters of manipulation. we do this by convincing others to do things for us that they normally wouldn't do, or to do things against their better judgment. Ex] Oh I'm soooo sick, just help me this one time, I will never ask you again for help I swear on my mothers grave, I will get help, please, please, please. Response, Yea right, I've heard that before. Addict, the guilt trip] O.K. great now I see what kind of friend you are, I've always helped you out when you were desperate. Victim] sorry, can't help you. addict] fine I guess I'll just rob a liquor store and it will be all your falt. Victim] O.K. I will help you get a fix but then were going straight to the rehab center. addict] O.K. (I will leave the drug house out the back door and escape) I promise we will go strait from the drug houe to the rehab center.
Get the picture.
This manipulation will work at all levels of our lives. we will lie to employers, family, friends, doctors etc..
Atom74 if you are an addict you are lieing right now in order to justify your addiction as socially acceptable. I'm rich I don't manipulate. How about the time when you ran out and there was'nt any drug supplies available on the street. Did'nt you call all your drugie friends to see if they could spare their personal stash. Conversation] Sorry can't help you out I only have enough for me. I will pay you 10 times what you paid for it, I got a guy who's going to score tonight and I will be able to pay you back.
No matter how desperate I was I always found a way to get drugs.

I think that may be biased on economic bracketing. Yes poor drug addicts will lie, cheat and steal to get drugs. But you are not considering the people who are wealthy, I know there are a lot of very rich addicts as well. They are upstanding members of society and don't manipulate as you claim.

In a be conscious, specific. there is quite no assessment between poverty interior united states of america of america (or the different First international usa) and poverty in 0.33 international countries like Haiti and maximum of Africa. interior the U. S., there are government social courses, state and federal suggestions, charity communities, housing suggestions, each citizen and resident receives unfastened training in the process the twelfth grade, person-friendly healthcare (no medical institution will turn anybody away based upon the ability to pay), a police rigidity, and so on. In 0.33 international countries, there is none of that. in case you won't be able to be able to feed your self, you starve. in case you fall ill and could't arise with the money for a doctor, you the two get greater effective or you die. in case you won't be able to arise with the money for an training or possibly a school uniform, you reside illiterate and uneducated. in case you get attacked, assaulted and killed by skill of a team of bandits, no person is there to guard you. So specific, on your situation, it rather is much less tragic to be a drug addicted prostitute interior the U. S. than a drug addicted prostitute in a 0.33 international usa. the former has thoughts and opportunities that the latter in no way could have. ETA: LT: i'm no longer belittling your reviews. i'm useful it sucked and that i will admit, nonetheless i've got been poor in my life, i grow to be in no way homeless. yet my factor is, even interior the slums of NYC there are greater opportunities than interior the slums of Monrovia. I additionally remember between the regulars asserting something to the top result that orphanages in Africa could desire to have working water, using fact working water isn't remarkable in Africa. it rather is in basic terms yet another occasion of no longer having any real comprehension of 0.33 international usa poverty. There quite is not any comparasion.

Meaning they will lie , cheat, or steal, to get to the next fix. They would do something they normally not do, just to get the drug.
