I have had consistent "concentrated" headaches, coupled with dizziness and occasional 2-sec blackouts. My GP told me there was nothing, but to be risk free, to take a brain MRI. Now its due in 3 days. I am worried about the cost, but is the procedure and implications itself something to worry about? I have sinusitis, so it could be sinus headaches for all I know, and it pains me to think I'm wasting my Dad's money.

Then again, whats the price value of a life?

It is a very simple procedure. You lay on this table and go thru a huge magnet and it scans your brain. The machine is loud but they will usually give you earplugs. Just relax and it will be over before you know it. If you have a tumor or something like that they can treat you. If they find everything is normal then you and your family can breath a little easier knowing you are ok. Take a look at th elinks and you will be a little more comfortable.

the MRI itself is nothing to fear, it can be a bit noisy depending on the type of machine used, but it is the same as an xray as far as the patient is concerned. It doesn't hurt or anything.
