I am a Freemason.
No matter what you do with, or to, the ring, nothing will happen to you. It is just a ring.
If you have someone else in the family who is a freemason you can give it to them when/if they do the Scottish Rite and become a 32 degree mason (this happens over the course of a day or two here in the USA). If not, you can donate it to the Lodge he belonged to or a local masonic museum (the local Lodge should be willing to help with either of these).
Selling it on eBay in another option, lots of people do this; and of course there is nothing wrong with melting it down and making something new from it.
to some other responses:
* oddly enough, 'evil globalist' hasn't a clue on the topic of lucifer... the term comes from the Latin lux fere or 'light carry' meaning 'bringer of light' and Pike says "lucifer, bringer of light, if you are not God than who is". this should be interpreted to say that God is the sole bringer of Light (as in Truth). it has nothing to do with satan; the use of Lucifer as satan is a modern creation and was not the case when Pike authored his text. also the 33rd degree is an honrary degree for service to the Scottish Rite.
* freemasonry is not a religion
* if you sell it, you can sell it to anyone, mason or non-mason... not everyone that wears masonic jewelry is a mason

RE:
What does the 32 degree mason ring mean or stand for? Could a curse come on us for having it or selling it?
We have inherited this ring from a relative who died. I want to get rid of it, but i dont know if it would be ok to trade it in at a jeweler or have it melted down or how can i destroy it and then get the value. Or is the proper thing to do is to destroy it and throw it away. I am a born again...

First off, it's not something "bad" or un-christian. You should be proud that your relative was a 32d Degree Mason, as he was a very righteous man and did many good works, most you'll never know about.
If you don't want to keep the ring to pass along to a male heir who might become a Mason someday, here's a couple of things you can do with it.
1. Sell it at a pawn shop.
2. Donate it to the local Scottish Rite organization.
3. Sell it on e-bay or through your local newspaper.
4. Have it melted down and turned into another piece of jewelry (as you suggested). This is probably more expensive than it's worth.

Sell it on Ebay- if it's a good ring, and made of good metal, it's probably worth a couple hundred dollars. There is a market for them- new rings can be very expensive and many Masons like the look of an item which has been worn.
Your relative most certainly considered becoming a 32nd degree mason to be a great honour- please think of that before you do anything. There is no conflict between Christianity and Freemasonry.

It's just a ring, 32 is one step from 33rd the highest you can get. There is no magic powers in the ring. do what you want with it, if you are going to sell it make sure the other person isn't a mason or he will have you.

I would suggest learning a bit more about your relative and then offering it back to the masonic lodge that he attended.
It will mean more to the people there.
Jesus said give unto Caesar what is Caesar's, so do the right thing.
Personally I don't believe in curses, but you should consider what your dead relative would have wanted.

Jesus Christ died for our sins and sicknesses and by His stripes we were set free. Without the shedding of His blood we could not be free, because He is sinless and took our sins upon His back and with His blood He paid the ultimate price with His precious blood. So we are free from all the sin and sickness and we have authority over the devil because His blood paid the price. We are Free Free Free! Hallelujah no One but Jesus could do it. Not his mother Mary nor any disciples because they all had the sin nature. But Jesus because His blood is sinless getting His blood from His father God He was sinless. Mary was not that way. It is a fact that the baby never gets the blood of the Mother but from the Father. So Jesus was completely sinless when He went to Calvary. Contrary to popular belief that Mary was sinless too. Not true. She was just like each and everyone of us.

The true powers of the ring are only known by those of wisdom, for everyone else, its just metal.
