Crispy bacon-that way when you bite in to it, you will have a clean bite. If you use chewy bacon, when you bite into the sandwich-you may come away with the whole slice of bacon being pulled out of the sandwich, because it didn't break the way crisp bacon will.

There's a point that bacon gets to, almost crisp but not too. Too crispy means it's overcooked & the flavor is mostly gone. Next time try some crispy prosciutto.
Lay your prosciutto on a tinfoiled lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for around 12-15 minutes. Great substitute for bacon. Different but good.

Crispy is my favorite but I'll take the chewy if need be. Nothing makes things taste good as well as bacon!

It depends.
If the bread is toasted, then crispy.
If it's not, then chewy.
I like crispy best, the flavor is much stronger and and its better for you because some of the fat has been burned off.

I like chewy bacon in general, but for a sandwich that is supposed to be crunchy, crispy bacon is probably best.

I like my bacon chewy. I don't know, crispy seems to just fall to pieces. I like to actually enjoy the bacon. : )
