Nope, they don't give you money for the wheel total.
The only way that you get money from spinning the wheel, is if you get exactly one dollar, then you get $1,000.
Interesting fact though: My girlfriend was on the show and won a washer and dryer and a Ford Escort. She had to pay over $4,000 in taxes before she could get her prizes. She sold the car.

No, the chalenge is to see who gets the highest amount without going over a $1. So, unless you get a $1 or hit it twice, you don't get the change. The $1, will get you $1000, and hitting it twice will get you $10,000.

I think they only let you spin once for the dollar, since you get into the final why would you want to chance spinning again. but if all three went over they'd have to have all three at least spin one more time. I wouldn't spin again, and hope I won the showcase

I dont think that they do. The government automatically claims that as part of the taxes they collect on your winnings.
