Prevention:
* Avoid direct skin contact with a wart on someone else.
* After touching any of your warts, wash your hands carefully.
* Don't brush, clip, comb or shave areas with warts in order to avoid spreading the virus.
* Don't use the same file or nail clipper on warts as you use on healthy nails.
* Don't bite your fingernails if you have warts near your fingernails.
* Don't pick at warts. Picking may spread the virus. Consider covering your child's warts with an adhesive bandage to discourage picking.
* Keep your hands as dry as possible, because warts are more difficult to control in a moist environment.
* Wash your hands carefully after touching your warts.

Yes.
Warts on the skin may be passed to another person when that person touches the warts. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects that were used by a person who has warts.
Warts on the genitals are very contagious and can be passed to another person during oral, vaginal or anal sex. It is important not to have unprotected sex if you or your partner has warts on the genital area. In women, warts can grow on the cervix (inside the vagina), and a woman may not know she has them. She may pass the infection to her sexual partner without even knowing it.

A lot of people get HPV. How you handle it depends on which one it is. Many strains of HPV are harmless and go away on their own. Some cause cervical cancer and others cause genital warts. You didn't mention your age so I don't know if you are eligible to get Gardisil, the HPV vaccine but you might wanna ask your dr. Otherwise, if you love this guy then use some safe sex precautions with him.

Warts are a virus so do get spread by touch they need broken skin to get in though.
what normally happens is after contact you feel itchy so start to scratch if you scratch enough the wart can get in to the skin and grow.
