It doesn't matter what they say to me. I say Merry Christmas, because it's what I've always done. It is Christmas...it's a national holiday, so why not say it? Just because it isn't part of your religion to celebrate it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If that is the case, we better not tell anyone from japan or anywhere else to have a fun 4th of July, right? I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it a million more times... Politically correct people should be shot in the face.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with wishing someone a Merry Christmas. If I say "Merry Christmas" to someone, I'm wishing them well. Why would people get offended over such a thing? If they celebrate something else, all they have to do is politely tell me. If someone were to come up to me wishing me a Happy Hanukkah, I'd say it back. Why? They're sending good wishes during the holiday season my way! That's like someone being offended by being told "Have a nice day"! People should really just lighten up, IMO.

I think this entire controversy is absolutely ridiculous. The people complaining are exactly that: complainers. Merry Christmas has been said for centuries. These people that are 'offended' by Merry Christmas need to just get over it and get a life. Give me a break!!!!!!!!

I usually only say Merry Christmas to strangers if they say it to me first otherwise I say Happy Holidays which I justify because the word Holiday comes from Holy Day and well, that's almost as good as saying Christmas. I wish that people would stop getting so offended by innocent words. It's not like you said Happy Smelly Sock Day or something remotely unpleasant.

I wouldn't be surprised if the people who force "Merry Christmas" on people are the same people who would be offended if someone told them, "Happy Ramadan".

If I know the person is Christian, I'll tell them "Merry Christmas". If I don't know, I will say "Happy Holidays". It's one thing to be proud of your faith, but it's another thing to be disrespectful of others. It's dumb to get mad at a store for saying Holiday instead of Christmas.

Another media feeding frenzy and argument for the so-called political correctness. Just say what you're comfortable saying. If you know someone celebrates Christmas, say Merry Christmas. If you don't know, say Happy Holidays.

I fail to see the controversy. I don't believe there is one. Never in my life have I seen anyone become offended at either phrase--I've muslim friends who wish me a merry Christmas, and I think if you asked them they would say there's not one bit of controversy.

Here we go again. Somebody taking a tradition and turning it into something else. I saw nothing wrong with saying Merry Christmas.
