Yes,Stephen the Deacon and his martyrdom are described in the NT Book of Acts.
It is appropriate that a martyr should be honored on the day after Christmas Day since the Christ Child came to over come evil,endure death for us and rise from the dead for us

Yes, we talked about him at noon prayer service today. And many others persecuted today for their faith. We prayed for all of them, not just Christians. That Stephen was quite a guy. Too bad Saul was not Paul yet :(

I didn't know until I saw it on the calendar a few days ago at someone's house. I didn't know before there was such a day, and I didn't know about Stephen until a couple months ago.
