I've seen firsthand the pain and mysery that comes from shingles, so I'm hoping everyone will take the vaccine.

I don't know if there are any side effects to the shot, I'm sure you Dr. can tell you. My dad has been in mysery for 3 years, though, and shingles has ruined his life.

I don't know about that. Last year on New Years eve, I got a very bad case of Shingles on my butt. When I went to the emergency room the doctor gave me a prescription which I took. I did a follow up with my regular doctor but he did not say anything about a vaccine.

Around June of this year, I got what I thought was an ant bite in the same spot. I didn't do anything about it cause it isn't the same as last year. But, now, it has spread a little and itches like heck. It keeps me awake some nights.

Odd, how it is acting up almost a year later. But, I will go to the doctor and see what he says.

I've had the shingles 3 times in the last decade and I'm only 56.
I would LOVE to be vaccinated, but my insurance doesn't cover it and it's very expensive.

Will it make me sick? Just curious...if it will make me more sick and in pain than with shingles.

EDIT: just saw what the cdc site says about it, and I can't get it. Guess that's why my doctor never told me about it.
