After all, without it we would not be here. We would all have the same God and there would be no argument over whose God is the only true one.

Personally, I do not wish to worship anyone or anything, but at least the sun exists.

But the sun is not a god, its a ball of combustable gases.
Having said that, its something that can be scientifically and physically proved, and if everyone suddenly started to accept that the sun is one of the major factors on our lives and could forget about the ones that can't be proved, the world would suddenly acknowledge that we need to work together rather than fighting.
I'm not saying people shouldn't worship their own 'GOD', I'm saying that every major religion advocates love for their fellow man, and its only mans interpretation of it that causes problems.

It would make as much sense to worship a flaming ball of helium that we can not influence in any way as it would to worship a non existing god of any sort.

I think its futile to worship anything, If the human race just cut out the crap we could all get on with humanitarianism, and try to get something positive done in this world.

According to the Bible, God created the heavens and the earth, the moon, the sun, the seas, every living thing. Please quote me a verse from the Bible that states one cannot worship the sun.

Oh dear, let me tell you a story...

In the beginning, man was lonely - and he also felt very insecure, so when he started to settle down and farm, he looked for someone powerful to keep him company, and choose the sun, it was his 'diety'.

The years went on, and he still and hated the things he could sink down to, so he created a God in the shape of a mighty Bull, but the sun worshipers said, that thier god was more powerful, but he said, my god created your god.... Well this worked for a while but he was finding it hard to connect to his god, so he created on in his image. He could relate to this god a bit more. As the god grew in complexity, he attempted to describe all the questions his peers would ask him about this god, and the world with a set of stories.

He could not explain the bones of these great creatures, which had existed, long before he had, so he invented dragons and monsters to justify them. In deed, as his knowledge of the natural world grew, so he amended the story to fit the world he saw, and soon his stories became classic tales, that everybody accepted. And they told his story far and wide.

Problem was that the story was not unique, but one of hundreds of competing stories, all similar. So the followers of each 'theory' would defend it against the followers of other theories. Three of the stories grew very big, and were a kind of Trilogy, but the followers of the first book denied the sequels, and the followers of the second book, tried to wipe out the followers of the other books with holy wars. The followers of the third book tried to convert all to the third book.

In the end, the followers became so blind to the world about them - that when science evolved - and a good theory to explain the world, they clung onto their old superstitions. Many ranting chapter and verse of the good book - rather than using their brains to accept or even judge the new material.

The believers in the ‘story’ even tried to develop sudo-science to make the actual facts seem less important, anything to get back to the old beliefs, as they were starting to feel lonely again. They even tried to invent theories to describe dinosaurs, when they could no longer ignore them!

Truth is what a con-man will try to hood wink you with, it’s a word invented by the religions. Fact is the scientific equivalent, and unlike truth is not subjective, but can stand on its own, and is supported by physical evidence that does not require a leap of faith. Scientology is sudo science - false facts - lies, perverted half-truths to try and justify the Bible and a lot of additional strange beliefs.

So what you have is not a book about a god, but a book with examples of how a church would like the story of our creation to be, and edited using examples that suit their own political agenda. Te church want's lots of followers, because they each pay money to that church, so it gets them young, keeps them with stories to scare them into membership, and rewards them with free gifts they can never question or test.

In fact anything that is fun is made a sin, so the sinner has to confess to the priest, who will arrange a moral compensation which for the wealthy included land and nice new buildings for the poor church to live in, for the glory of this wonderful invention god. Oldest profession on earth, conning poor farmers out of food for peace of mind, even older than prostitution!

Worshiping the sun is as useless as worshiping any imaginary gods.
You should be worshiping you fellow human beings.

When he saw the sun rising, he said, "This must be my Lord. This is the biggest." But when it set, he said, "O my people, I denounce your idolatry.

Abraham Debates With Idol Worshipers

[6:74] Recall that Abraham said to his father Azar, "How could you worship statues as gods? I see that you and your people have gone far astray."

[6:75] We showed Abraham the marvels of the heavens and the earth, and blessed him with certainty:

[6:76] When the night fell, he saw a shining planet. "Maybe this is my Lord," he said. When it disappeared, he said, "I do not like (gods) that disappear."

[6:77] When he saw the moon rising, he said, "Maybe this is my Lord!" When it disappeared, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will be with the strayers."

[6:78] When he saw the sun rising, he said, "This must be my Lord. This is the biggest." But when it set, he said, "O my people, I denounce your idolatry.

[6:79] "I have devoted myself absolutely to the One who initiated the heavens and the earth; I will never be an idol worshiper."

[6:80] His people argued with him. He said, "Do you argue with me about GOD, after He has guided me? I have no fear of the idols you set up. Nothing can happen to me, unless my Lord wills it. My Lord's knowledge encompasses all things. Would you not take heed?

[6:81] "Why should I fear your idols? It is you who should be afraid, since you worship instead of GOD idols that are utterly powerless to help you. Which side is more deserving of security, if you know?"
