Why destroy her world at 11 years old? You should have been there for her all along. She may be calling someone else daddy now. Leave the poor child alone at least until she is an adult, unless you plan to send her mother all of the back child support that she can sue you for.

My son's father has never seen him either.
You need to make sure you have a clear Goal of what you want to accomplish and make sure the way you go about it matches your outcome.
After all those years you just cant show up at their door or call them or go to see her.
I would first start with other family members and send out feelers that way. Pass along your phone number and address and then let them decide if they want to contact you.
Do a people search on the Internet for the other family members addresses. You need to think of what you want to say and how you are going to say it.
You will only get one chance, so think it out and dont blow it again.

She's 11 years old and you've never seen her. She has a life that doesn't include you. She may call her step-father dad and may not know he isn't her biological father. I can understand that you may have a deep longing to see and know her but contacting her out of the blue may cause a lot of emotional upheaval for the girl. Please leave her be.
Maybe you could open a trust fund for her to let her know (when she is not at such a vulnerable age) that you care for her and her future.

Every situation is different but you can't expect an 11 year old to handle something like this very well. Unless there is a VERY good reason you haven't seen her until now, I'd wait until she was an adult to try to make contact.

I hope you havn't left it too late! Why not start with contact when she was young ...try her mums name, look it up and old friends etc. Parents/grandparents or any family member. If desperate you could try that show on ABC 'Can We Help'. they can find anyone! She might like to conect too!
