I feel like I may need to seek out a therapist (psychologist) at some point here. I would really like to try to find a good one who practices therapy around Christian ideals.

Has anyone had any experience with a Christian Therapist vs. a secular therapist?
How do I find them in my metro area?
What's a good screen process to use to choose one?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some larger Christian Churches have Christian Therapists on their staff. I would suggest that first of all, you call the largest Christian Church in your area, and ask if they have a licensed Christian Therapist on their staff, and if they do not, ask to speak to the pastor or assistant pastor and get one of them to recommend someone. Christian Therapists that advertise in the yellow pages, are looking for business. I would prefer to get advice from someone who depends on word of mouth for patients.

Look in your Yellow Pages under "Pastoral Counseling".
As with any other therapist, you have to meet the person, ask questions, see if the "fit" between you feels right and you feel comfortable with them. You may have to visit several to find the best one for you.
Good luck and G-d bless you!
