Not because they are religious. Or Muslim.
I vote for people who I believe will surround themselves with good advisors and listen to good advice, and who are honest, knowlegable and experienced. If that person happens to be a devout Muslim, no problem. But in the current political climate I doubt that a Muslim could be elected in this country to be President---I would bet against it.

Since when did a person's religion become a criterion for the presidency. I thought the criterion was to uphold the constitution.
Sidebar - A large majority of the founding fathers (George Washington, Benjamin Franklin et. al. [smile]) were 33 degree masons. Upon reaching the 33rd degree they received a Holy Quran and greeted their masonic and Shriner brethren with the greeting As Salaam Alaikum.

I'd vote for someone that I think would be a good president, and that's not based on their religious beliefs, so if it means voting for someone who is Muslim, yes.
But oh, I forgot, you won't win the presidential election in this country unless you are a white Christian male.

I would vote for any person who will uphold the statutes of the Constitution of the United States, and share similar views to me. I don't consider religion when making a vote for public servants.

Probably not, frankly. Before we would vote in (as a country) a devout Muslim, we would vote in a Jewish person, a woman, a black, a Latino, and an openly gay person. That's a lot of years ahead!

No.
Anyone that is swayed by any religion has no business in politics. Period.
Americans voting for a very religious Muslim President? Are you on crack?

Considering how Bush misused his presidency, a Muslim would be a relief.

If I liked their ideas and plans, yes. However (and this is probably stereotypical), I highly doubt a very religious Muslim would have ideas and plans that I liked...
