Maybe when the NEXT translation of the bible is written, that information will be included, then they wouldn't be so cynical about actual facts. But knowing how some of them are, that's the ONE scripture they wouldn't take literally.

Sharing ninety 9 p.c. of genes would not make 2 species ninety 9 p.c. comparable; diverse genes code for fairly some issues and a few are lots greater considerable than others, and don't ignore how many man or woman genes there are. Even one p.c. has the aptitude to alter each thing, such because of the fact the version between, as you mentioned, people and mice. i don't understand something with regard to the shared genes, yet i'm guessing they're the elementary genes that make up all mammalian life. with regard on your 2nd question, evolution works by branching off from common life. Birds branched from dinosaurs, this is sparkling of their comparable skeletal shape and their feathers, which we now many dinosaurs had. Dinosaurs, opposite to popular perception, have been birds and not reptiles. Mice, apes and people are mammals. Like I mentioned, i don't understand something, yet in basic terms think of a majority of those species as being diverse leaves on diverse branches, separate, yet coming from a similar place and a few are greater on the brink of one yet another than others. wish this helped :)

This is a single fact but the whole framework of science points towards a universe that contradicts literalistic fundamentalism. I suspect that at some point religions will split going either anti-technology into some form of Amish back to nature form or to a radically updated form more similar to the European form of Christianity. If you know your science, most things in life including medicine, mobile phones, TV, Cars use technologies that are built on ideas that biblical fundamentalists couldn't accept. They can only remain at peace with the modern world if they remain uneducated.

rob5279 is absolutely correct. What's more, 46% of our DNA is identical to the banana. (% might be off slightly). Does this prove that we have evolved from bananas? Of course not. Nor does 98% similarity to chimpanzees even suggest that we have evolved from them, or concurrently with them. *Nor* does it prove that all of these living organisms were created. In fact, all it proves is that organisms are more genetically similar than scientists once believed.

You see what happened was, the designer made humans first, he/she then realized how dumb his new creation is so he made chimps using the same idea as humans to make up for his horrid mistake.

Actually, recent evidence says it's closer to 95%.

But in any case, I don't see how it shows anything about creation vs evolution.

Every Christian knows that God made the animals too, so...what's the point of this? Did you know there is more genetic diversity in one group of chimps than in the entire human population? That points to a very SMALL group of humans that we all evolved from. Perhaps as small as one man.

Scientifically, it doesn't prove or disprove anything. It's just a lone fact. Have you taken a science class and used the scientific method?
