Yes. Cancer make you loss weight. It is one of the most important sign of Cancer -

Unexplained Weight Loss

Most people with cancer will lose weight at some time with their disease. An unexplained (unintentional) weight loss of 10 pounds or more may be the first sign of cancer, particularly cancers of the pancreas, stomach, esophagus, or lung.

A cancer may also cause symptoms such as fever, fatigue, or weight loss. This may be because cancer cells use up much of the body’s energy supply or release substances that change the body’s metabolism. Or the cancer may cause the immune system to react in ways that produce these symptoms. -

It can.

A lot of people these days put on weight during chemo because of the steroids given to help prevent nausea. Other drugs can also cause weight gain. Weight gain because of lack of activity during treatment is also a possibility.

I think weight loss as a sign of cancer may depend on the cancer. With stomach cancer my mother had lost a lot of weight before being diagnosed. I had breast cancer, and lost no weight, nor did anyone else I know who's had breast cancer. I put on weight as a result of chemo and hormone treatment

Cancer makes you nauses, so you don't want to eat, and major illness greatly increases the amount of calories your body burns in a day. Someone with cancer can burn 3000-5000 calories a day when healthy people burn 1000-2000 depending on your lifestyle.

It can from my personal experience, or it can make you gain from certain medicines they put you on. After my surgery they put me on steroids which caused me too swell up in my face and such. Some Radiation can cause nausea and weakness.
I can only speak about radiation, since that is all I have had a this time, I
tell you how chemo works, never had to go through it. Hope that I never will.
