If you answer, "Through out the entire body," then what becomes of the soul of a soldier who had both legs blown off by a land mine? Is he/she now missing part of the soul?

Or, what about when an organ is removed due to disease? Do we lose part of our souls at that time?

It exists in the minds of the delusional. I guess that would be in some part of the brain. Neuroscience is still in it`s infancy. We currently have no idea how ideas originate and where they are located in the brain. Once we figure this out maybe it will explain how people can believe in such nonsense.

I don't believe that the soul resides inside the body, although. it is what powers the cell. Interestingly enough, people who have had their arms amputated can feel heat and sensation where their arm used to be, but this is for a different reason.

I think it would help to go more in depth about what most people think about the soul. It is common occult knowledge that we have five bodies: physical, astral, mental, ketheric and celestrial. The mental body transcends the physical body and connects our minds throughout physical space. The celestrial body body is the apex of the soul while still in physical form, it's the only one that is incoruptable. Above that, the soul exists in somesay, 10th dimensional, somesay 12th dimensional space. I really don't know. But I often envision a central hub where the soul creates sensation or the appereance of physical form through mental constructs; this is sometimes refered to as the Great Central Sun. Seperation is an illusion, so there is only one soul that BELIEVES it lives as it were comparmentalized.

It isn't a tangible thing. Some will say it's what's in a persons heart. That doesn't mean it can be found in the heart muscle. You can't be like-here it is or there it is. It is who and what you are. The following might not be the best example but it's what comes to mind. When you look at the American flag you don't actually see America. You see a flag that represents America. You don't actually see a given state (let's say Illinois)but you can see a star that represents Illinois. If a flag gets old and some of the stars representing states wear off, does that mean those states are no longer in America? No. A persons soul can't be found inside their physical body but it can be seen by their actions, words, deeds, what they believe, and how they live their life. Plus--God can see what man cannot.

Butterflies in your tummy is your spirit excited at being engaged in a part of your life. The real you. The part of you that should be in control of your mind and body, not the other way around. Not the soul, your spirit. I'm an Atheist by the way. A spiritual Atheist.

Look at an outlet in your home. Does the electricity reside in the outlet, or is just a temporary phenomenon? if you remove parts of that outlet does it still work? My point is that conversations about the soul usually hold it to be separate and distinct from the corporeal body.

The soul is the Light in you. If you lose a part of the body and the light is still there, then the soul is still there.

The soul is the life of the organism. When the life is gone, the soul is dead, nonexistent. If that weren't the case, there would not be need of a resurrection of all the dead, after Armaggedon.

"Man came to be a living soul." --Genesis 2:7b

"The soul that is sinning will itself die." --Ezekiel 18:4

"His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts do perish." --Psalm 146:4

"...There is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going." --Ecclesiastes 9:10

"You will ... return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return." --Genesis 3:19

If the soul was not the body,
it would not return to the dust of the earth.

In the Bible the word “soul” applies not only to humans but also to animals. For example, in describing the creation of sea creatures, Genesis 1:20 says that God commanded: “Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls.” And on the next creative day, God said: “Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds, domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind.” (Genesis 1:24; compare Numbers 31:28.) Hence, “soul” can refer to a living creature, whether human or animal.

Soul (as defined by religions) is just one of those religions' supernatural concepts. It does not exist.

Consciousness (as defined in philosophy) exists, tho. But soul and consciousness are two different things.
