Yes, all PS3's can go online, and it is completely free for life. Though you can buy some add ons that game developers release for small transactions. (such as extra maps)

Umm, ya but you need internet. It has all built in, wireless capability that is, but you need internet or public Wi-Fi and then connect to that ISP.
