I just took 7 Extra Strength acetaminophen sleeping pills. They are a pain killer - almost exactly like Tylonel - they are each 500mg. What should I do now?
-Also, my hands and feet are cold...is that normal?

Please no rude answers, this is completely serious.

You are ok. The maximum dose of Tylenol (which is the brand name of acetaminophen) that is safe to take is 4000mg per day. You have taken 3500mg. If you haven't taken any more in the past 24 hours you should be fine. But make sure that you are not taking anymore in the next 24 hours. Also stay away from alcohol. You probably want to let someone know about this and ask them to stay with you tonight to monitor you through the night. Make sure you will never do this again since too much Tylenol will damage your liver.

If you're a full-sized adult, the acetaminophen level for a one-time overdose isn't harmful. If it's one of the sleeping pill combo's, it probably contains 25 mg of diphenhydramine as well, and that may cause some uncomfortable anticholinergic side effects but won't be life-threatening. You should call Poison Control to confirm. If you don't have the local number, try 1-800-222-1222.

Go to the emergency room. Acetaminophen is very damaging to the liver. And if they were sleeping medication, they probably also contain the drug diphenhydramine (same as Benadryl) and this is too much Benadryl also. Medical attention now!!

I was young and stupid and I did that once. Tylenol PM (and all similar brands) make my feet feel kinda heavy and tingly (if that makes any sense). I would hop in bed and get ready to sleep for about 12 hours if I were you.

I find a Tylenol PM / Ny Quill buzz to be nice at first, but it gets a little uncomfortable if you don't konk out when it first hits you.

honey
right now, either call the police, or go stick something down your throat and throw up.

you do not want 3,500 mg of acetaminophen in your system. ever.
you will start throwing up, possibly black out; so it's better that you just get it out of your body before its absorbed into your bloodstream.

okay? and be careful next time. it may be an otc pain killer, but it's still a drug, and it's still dangerous.

Uhhh I would tell a parent or call poison control or get yourself to the ER. This is very serious. My sister overdosed on a tylenol product and would have died if my sister hadn't told my parents. She had to get her stomach pumped....overdosing on stuff like that can seriously damage your liver and other organs...

I believe that's way too much to have. You should call yourself an ambulance to be safe. (Don't try driving to the emergency room with 7 sleeping pills in your system)

Doubt it would kill you, however, call poison control to check for sure... If you are feeling any symptoms that you are uncomfortable with, go to the ER... You said overdose... as in suicide attempt? Not being smart, just clarification... probably best for you to go to the ER either way... I wish you the best.

Why did you do that? You will probably be fine, the sleep aid is benedril which you cannot overdose on. Next time just take two.

go to the hospital the will be able to treat you if you had an overdose they can counteract it before it does any damage to your internal organs and I don't think your hands and feet going cold is normal you should go to the dr.
