As others have told you, all prior year returns must be filed on paper.
You can get blank forms at irs.gov, just enter the year in the search box and it will give you a link to all forms.
Alternately, you can download software to do the forms, print them and then mail them in. Turbotax, Taxcut and the rest sell their software for previous years.

No you can't file 2006 or any previous year's tax return online. You must send the paper copy.
For the 2007 return, you can start filing online from Jan 2008 till October 15, 2008.

You have to file previous years returns by mail. You can only e-file the current year. When you file, just make sure you get the forms and tax tables for the proper year.

You can file online to get 2008 filed. As the above poster stated, if the previous year shows a balance due, they will apply the refund to that bill and if there is extra, refund the rest. As far as hiring a lawyer, what do you expect a lawyer to do. Wave a magic wand and give you the child back with EIC? No, you have to follow the IRS instructions and get records. If you can't satisfy the IRS with what you have, getting a lawyer won't change that.
