I said get my son Hot Wheels for Christmas. Who knew Hot Wheels make obnoxious noises nowadays, and have no off-switch?

I said don't get my kids lots of toys, they have too many already. We can't even walk over the piles of toys now - and all of them make NOISE! And all of them come in the sadistic packaging-from-hell.

I said don't get them anything big. So I've spent all evening putting together a Big Wheel - "*some* assembly required."

I wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc. But apparently that's "chatting".

*sigh* Hope your holidays were great :-)

Your house sounds like mine.

My son and granddaughter are so spoiled it is absurd. Little people ( the kids toys) should start giving us a discount, or we should buy stocks in the company. Because they both like the same stuff we now have his and hers air planes, castles etc all of which make noise. But my wife being the very sweet genius she is bought him this starter drum set he decided he loved, with 4 drums and a cymbal.

The noise hasn't stopped here all day. Christmas at my house is complete pandemonium, I am glad there is only 1 a year.

Yeah I hate the packaging, it takes longer to open a package sometimes than to put the toy together. Yeah wishing a merry christmas apparently is chatting cuz I did it and got a violation notice. Either some hateful people out reporting today or yahoo employees are way to friggin uptight.

I've made this with shrimp or chicken or no meat at all. This recipe is very adaptable. Another sauce can be substituted, such stir fry sauce in a bottle Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup diced carrots 1 egg, lightly beaten 2 cups cooked white (or brown) rice (May want to start with a tablespoon first) 3 tablespoons soy sauce 3 scallions, thinly sliced In a large non-stick skillet or wok, heat oil over medium high heat. Cook shrimp quickly until pink. Remove to board and chop coarsely. Discard shrimp tails. Add garlic and onion to skillet and cook for 1 minute. Stir in carrots and cook for 2 minutes. Add egg and rice and toss quickly to distribute egg. Stir the rice for a few minutes (more or less depending on your taste) before adding the soy sauce. Stir in soy sauce. Toss in scallions and serve.

LOL - it's our "job" to get our nieces, nephews, grandkids...etc. presents that will annoy the hex outta their parents. :)

Enjoy!

Hope your kids know how lucky they are to have those piles of toys. So many others have so little.

Happy holidays back atcha. I had a great time playing with my new "toys" today...after getting through that sadistic packaging-from-hell like you were referring to. (I even got some that make noise! Ha! I have nobody to annoy with them but my dog though.)

lol@ weird darryl. OMG! Was that out loud? Sorry, but it was funny. We know you don't wet your pants ~ not sure about the paste. Giggle. Giggle.

Yeah, I can feel and share your frustration. We don't even celebrate christmas and my son received so many gifts from the grammies and nanas that I am trying to figure out where to put everything. I have already taken out three garbage bags of those packages from hell. I look at this stuff and think of all the children in the world who went hungry today. Can't help it. Child advocate here.

LOL

I have no one to blame for the very noisy robotic horse that has quickly become my daughter's favorite... I bought the darn thing even after listening to it in the store LOL

Do you think a 10 yr old would fall for "I am so sorry honey AA batteries have become obsolete just like vinyl records and 8 track tapes." ? LOL

Sounds like Christmas blues from a father of young children. Don't worry, Orpheus, I don't hate you. On the contrary, you're one of my favourite contacts!

Might look in a mirror and talk. That's what I did for myself and realized people really did have at least two reasons to hate me.
