I can't account for his personal relationship with God, but Ido know that he teaches like the false teachers that are spoken about in 2nd Timothy. The ones for people whom like to have their ears tickled, and reject the true unbridaled word of God that brings us all under conviction.
They just want a happy , feel good message without any substance.

Jesus said, "by their fruits you will know them". (Matthew 7:20).
So far, I have seen the fruit of the Spirit from Pastor Joel Osteen - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faith and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
He always closes his sermons with an invitation to unbelievers to pray with him: "Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. Come into my heart. I make You my Lord and Saviour." God bless you.

I can't judge him never having met him and certainly not knowing his heart, but he isn't a fundamentalist.
I think of him more as a motivational speaker.

Considering that what he teaches is hardly gospel, but only good psychology, I have serious doubts. His father would be sorely disappointed.

He refuses to publicly state that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.
