It's sinful alright.... I'm salivating at the thought of a great big mango tree dripping with fresh juicy fleshy mangos.. plucking them ripe from limbs and notice the shapely mango cheek .. why is it called a cheek.. it's more like a breast that anything else ~ apart from a breast that is..... and what man can resist it when it is handed to you?

Well, Mango's are a member of the Poison Ivy family; Anacardiaceae. While being a rather good tasting fruit, the mango has about as much chance as being the fruit of the tree of knowledge as any other tree borne fruit.

So unless someone comes up with something that is more convincing, I will remain undecided.

No, it is unknown what the fruit was because it was not from earth. It was a transplanted shrub not from earth which grew into a tree and the fruit did sustain life for Adam and Eve. They were not allowed to take the tree when Eden was invaded. It was later burned by the invaders because it did nothing for them.
Without it, Adam and Eve died.

I think it was two ripe soft mangoes and one very hard, unripe banana. The conmination of these must have been an uplifting experience.

This is so true, and a warm, ripe mango is indeed a liberal education.

Though a warm, tree-ripened peach is very close to nirvana.

I don't care if it was an apple, a mango, a banana or an orange. The foundation of the story is still the same.
