Just start going by Rain. Why worry about what other people think? Its you that has to live with it and you that has changed. If taking a new name will help you keep the positive changes happening in your life - then by all means use a new name.

Good luck, Rain, best wishes for the new year.

interesting, why would anyone think Rain is weird
well first off Rain is a commonly female name (sorry)
but can be used for a male
Rain reminds people of the hippy days
where rain, rainbow, love, life, etc. were common names/nicknames
so when you want to change your name and you are originally from Australia people might be a little prejudiced
you understand?
we don't think of rain as a common name anymore, but u would not exactly know that because it was from American mid history
sorry to burst your bubble
but i have not met anyone named rain in the US
and i live here

Well, I don't think that Amelia/Sydney/Amber/Eileen would qualify as unique, rare, and exotic. I like Amelia and Sydney the best out of the list though. I've never met anyone named Esmira or Rain, so I think that those would qualify. Why do you want it to start with those letters? Here are some other names that I think are unique/rare/exotic/pretty Acelin Ambria Elleree Ellyce Lark Lotus Hollyn Rheanna Raya

Well, as long as you don't mind people assuming you're female, it's fine. The only male "Rain" I can think of is Rainn Wilson, the nerdy guy from The Office and House of 1000 Corpses.

this remind me of lyrics to a song:
I had a friend who changed his name But couldn't change himself
you should wait before doing it right away wait till your back in aussie again and see how you feel then things might change back to the way they were

Thats Dwights real name from the us's the Office - is that why? It'd be funnier if you changed your name to Dwight.
