I am a single, straight, successful, educated, 28 year old male. I have no interest in getting a girlfriend, much less getting married and having children this early in life. I just can't believe how many of my unmarried friends are panicking because they are almost 30 (like that is old) and are not in any kind of a relationship yet. I have only gone on two dates in my entire life and they all took place 5 years ago. Believe me, there are much more important things to do right now! My friends mock the fact that I haven't even had my first kiss yet or even my first passionate hug! I think it's funny and provides something to look forward to! People my age are also in a rush to move out and waste their money on rent when they already live close to work, have no kids or wife. Is my generation simply bonkers or what?

Your generation? What u just described is most ppl for the last few generations.

I'm the same way as you tho, except I've had a lot of women, and I'm bored with it now. I'd rather work on my personal success.

Anyway , your answer, they are not bonkers. they are the norm. Ppl like you and I and the different ones. But oh well.

No more bonkers than my generation. I'm generation Y and I see the same thing with my friends (22/23 year olds)

We must be even MORE bonkers to want to settle down at such an absurdly young age!

Some people really have nothing else going for them except for the hope of reproducing. I'm a little biased however as I hate children and never want them myself.

I'm probably more in the same boat as you. I've had more relationship experience, I'd say... but regardless, I'm really in no rush for a relationship or anything. I have a lot more important stuff going on in my life right now that I cannot afford to lose site of due to a distraction like a LTR.

It's a personal preference and what your priorities are. They may see having a family a much more important thing than a career, whereas you value your career over a family. There are people out there who are in their 40s and have never had a single girlfriend/boyfriend in their entire lives! And i'm glad you think there are more important things in life right now, as opposed to a relationship, especially if you've been in one yourself, rather than be igorant about it. But having kids and a wife at your age isn't a bad decision either, just whatever lifestyle you wish to choose.

No, you are.

When you die in that accident tomorrow, I rather doubt you'll be saying, "Gee, wish I could have spent more time working!"

OTOH, maybe you will, you obviously have no idea what you're missing. Once you do, either it'll be no big deal because you're basically asexual, in which case you should never ever punish a woman by marrying her, or you'll feel like a real idiot for waiting.

P.S. I don't mean to say you need to get married or reproduce, I'm avoiding reperating the former and never chose the latter, but nothing beyond a chaste little kiss? Something is wrong!

I'm 19, and I'm almost in the same boat as you. Had I not met one very persistent individual, I would still be walking around having not experienced a kiss. I used to take pride in being different. I even joked with friends and called people with kids "breeders". I somewhat mocked marriages and called people weak who couldn't exist independently of a mate. I considered myself rather intelligent and took solace in my academic successes. It wasn't until I met him that I realized so many of the strongest emotions I now have.

i don't believe that you've never kissed before. at your age you should be looking forward to settling down. maybe you fear the unknown so you occupy yourself with work. i suggest you take time to do things out of the ordinary or else life will pass you by.

well your friends what a woman's affection and to settle down. don't want to have to call your moma when your 30 to tell her not to worry because you are going be late today. i mean you just gotta leave the nest. i mean daium 30... women have biological clock ya know. complications come with pregnacies after 30. really you know you desire a woman's touch, just too afraid to admit it.
