I ache for God to tell me what He wants me to do and believe....but my prayers are not answered. Why doesn't God answer my prayers and how do I know what He wants me to do? How do I know truth.

read the bible, and if this doesn't answer your question, maybe their is some sin in your life that you know about but are unwilling to deal with...or you really know what to do but are unwilling to submit to that will

Very good question, and attitude. Prayer will be answered; keep praying. Also remember that, in general, we have been told what to do. The Bible is filled with messages about this, for example: He has told you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. And Jesus taught many things, which if we were to do them would result in blessings to us and those around us. Read the Scriptures prayerfully. Also, if there is something you are good at, and can use your talent or skill in connection with serving God, do it. You serve God by living according to his standards. If you do this, it will lead to other things in his service. To him who is faithful in little, much will be entrusted to him. Walk with God and God will take you where you should be.

I asked that same question. I prayed for God to use me and gave my life over to Him. I have learned to be patient. He has revealed to me in many small ways where He wants me to be. I to was expecting a great revelation as to what He wanted. But sometimes He comes to us in a small quiet voice. Just keep praying and living you life as Christ would. That is really all God wants from us. Some of us may not no what He had planned for us until the moment we stand before Him.

Have you ever written a letter, sent it, & had it returned to you because the address was somehow wrong? You thought it was right, but it was just enough wrong that they couldn't find the letter's rightful owner? Did you knoe that prayer needs to be addressed properly in order for it to be heard by God?:

God's message for all of mankind is in the Bible, but we need Him to reveal it to us, nevertheless:

First off you have to pray and then sit and be still and quiet and listen for that small quiet voice.God speaks to us in so many ways. Thru other people, thru different circumstances that come about during our day, to our hearts. Your prayers are answered but they may not be answered the way you want. God answers them according to His will for you

Jonny, pray and fast and read your Bible. God will make Himself and His will for your life known to you, but He probably isn't going to do something dramatic like speak from a burning bush or part the creek down from your house. We try to make our relationship with God so much harder than it really is. We do this because if we can convince ourselves that it is really hard, then we can excuse ourselves for missing the boat. When we get really gut level honest with ourselves and with God, we find that we come to know His will through scripture and through a still, small voice. In the Word, Jesus says that His sheep know His voice and obey.

I had a good friend who was a Catholic Priest. When I was talking to him back in 1985 I shared with him that I was really anxious about what God wanted me to do. He told me something really profound. I am going to share it with you.

"God created human BEings, not human DOings, and maybe what you ought to DO is just BE."

I followed his advice and relaxed. When I relaxed and practiced being in God's will, for a while, He helped me see what I needed to do, AS I needed to do it. For the most part, all I have to do is pray for the knowlege of His will and ask for the power to carry it out.

Romans 12:1-2 tells us the steps of how to know God's will for your life: "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."

When we have done all of this, the Scripture says we will be able to test and approve what God's will is. We will know His good, pleasing, and perfect will. His perfect will is what He ordains for our lives, but if we miss the mark on His perfect will, He does not throw us away as misfits. Rather, if we choose his pleasing will, we are making the second choice God will condone. The last choice is pleasing to God. He would rather His perfect will be established, but because of His abundant love for us, we are still loved and desired as His children.

Continue to pray , pray according to His word, and be obedient. Don't hurry the Lord. He will reveal it to you in His time.
God Bless

Study the word. Take some personality tests if you can to see what you are gifted at. Move out in faith and try something. Maybe you are doing what God wants you to do at this point in your life!

first you read the word and see if your plan is against God written will, then pray for longer than you think you should, then proceed to the best of your knowledge, if God shuts a door in your path dont kick down the next one it means thats not Gods will.

Maybe the things you are praying for is not what God wants for you. Keep praying and keep believing.

Figure out what YOU want, that you can feel good about yourself for having or accomplishing, and I'll guarantee you'll be doing God's will!
