'Spiritually speaking, do you ever feel like people just don't *get* you?' When I feel the most spiritual, I am not in a place where I need to be 'gotten.' 'Or what you're talking about? Do you ever feel like there's a huge disconnect between what's going on in your mind, and what's going on in theirs?' This could be remedied by and increase in vocabulary and an extending of your personal experiences so that you are better able to understand what other people are trying to communicate to you. 'Do you have a spiritual solution to this problem?' If you understand your spiritual essence is one with everything, there really is no problem. There is only your need to open up to the understanding that we are all one.

It wouldn't be kind if you felt obligated, Kindness must be genuine. So you really don't repay, but treat as being treated with love towards the other when you are kind.

Morally, I feel the need to repay the world: give a little; there are alot of poor unfortunate people out there, and it sickens me that I'm typing on my computer while someone out there is dying or starving.

Everybody should be kind to others, regardless of other people being kind to us.

If you don't mind the bible, then reflect on these scriptures:
1 Corinthians 10:24
"Let each one keep seeking, not his own [advantage], but that of the other person."

Proverbs 21:21
"He that is pursuing righteousness and loving-kindness will find life, righteousness and glory."

Matthew 7:12
“All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them; this, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean."

The Eddas advise "a gift for a gift" - giving back what you receive, whether it's from the person giving or "paying it forward". We usually are the ones jumping in to help people when we can and don't ask for anything in return but the energy does return.

Strictly speaking, no. I may not be in a position to do so. But I do feel it's right to spread kindness around where I can.

No. I repay by doing a random act of kindness to or for a stranger.

Yes. But you are not suppose to look at it in that way. Most things are suppose to be done from the heart, not taken on account..
