Sisters go through lits of changes in their relationship throughout their lives, and it sounds like your friend's sister is in the middle of one of these.

My two sisters and I have been close most of our lives, but there have been times when we have grown apart.

This has been because of various reasons ~ new friends, changing interests, growing older and wanting to feel 'free' of family ties.

Eventually, we all drifted back to each other and made our peace (many tears and apologies later in some cases).

Your friend needs to rely on herself a little more, and to seek friends besides her sister.

This does not mean she should forget her sister ~ she can leave the door open for a return to friendship at some future time, but rather than wait around for her sister to set the schedule, it's time for your friend to begin making her own life.

She will always have a sister, and they can still be friends, in fact they may become better friends in the future, but for now, your friend can take the chance to find some fun and friendship in which her big sis doesn't figure!

Best wishes and good luck :-)
