I am a 14 year old girl and I have a 13 year old brother. For Christmas my grandmother sent us each a gift that she had to of put alot of thought into, because mine was one of my best gifts ever. I received a pearl ring, bracelet, and earrings that she chose just for me. When I talked to her on the phone I told her "Thank you so much for my gifts. They are so pretty!" She said, "Sorry, grandma doesn't have alot" etc. and she sounded so sad! She wouldn't believe that I loved them so much, which kinda made me feel bad. My grandmother always feels like she never gives enough, but if only she knew how much she has given to me. Not necessarily in objects though. How can I show her how much we love all that she has done for us as well as the beautiful gifts we received?

She spent so much money on my deceased grandfathers medical bills that she is is short on money and can't spend alot on us. That is why she feels bad.

That's very sweet and considerate of you. It sounds like your grandmother loves you so much, that she just wishes she could give you the world :-)
You're a lucky girl! As far as your question goes: make sure to send her a hand written note and put exactly what you put at the end of your question "I love all that you do for me and appreciate the beautiful gifts I received on Christmas." Also add some stuff about how much you love her and how the jewelry was the best gift you got.
It would also be nice if the next time you see her, be sure to wear them. You would also throw into the conversation a few weeks from now how people complimented them and you said how much you loved them.
Enjoy your grandmother - you are so lucky to still have her.
xoxox all the best to you!

Your grandmother doesn't know how to accept a "thank you" graciously for whatever reason. And sends out negative messages, and a 'woe is me' attitude, instead of just saying you're welcome.

It's not your fault.. you can't change her... there comes a time when we have to accept others at face value and move forward! take care and im' glad you got a very nice gift from grandma.

write her a thank you card expressing all the things you cherish about her and all the wonderful things she has done for you.
