Sometimes you just have to accept the things you can not change and do your best in life with or without your Dad's blessings.

Maybe your Dad doesn't know how to express himself. I know my parents never really encouraged me. I did stuff to make my Dad notice me. I knew what I was doing, but it didn't reallly work the way I wished. But as a kid, you don't really know what you should do to get noticed and not get into trouble.

I'm an adult now and realize what I did and why. When I got older my mom finally admitted she loved me. My sister was always having problems (my Dad died early-when my sister was a teenager). My Mom had to pay more attention to her.

It's not easy. You have to figure out what you really want and see if your Dad can show it in the way you want.

It might not be in his upbringing. It's hard for parents to show emotion or some kind of tenderness if they weren't shown or given it as a child. SO you have to figure out whether your Dad was raised like that. And you work from there.

It might not be your fault. It's just something that he cannot show to make you feel like you've done your best.

Live your life for you. If your Dad never recognizes your accomplishments, that's his problem, not yours.

Live up to your own expectations, not someone else's.

Do what pleases YOU and set goals which make you happy.

we aren't here to please everyone on earth... you are the most important person to consider.
