A few days ago, I told this guy I've been dating for about 6 months that I don't want a relationship. We agree to remain close, and close friends, we've been through hell and back together these 5 months, including a pregnancy that lead to a miscarriage...

anyhow. he gave me a giftcard to a spa... he chose for me to get a manicure and massage, saying that I never would spend the money on myself so he will. It came to $109, as it says on the certificate. He says he doesn't want it back. But he bought it when he thought him and i would eventually be in a relationship. What to do?

He really doesn't have that kind of money right now, either.

wow, he really cares about you. This says alot about him:

It mainly says that even though you guys aren't together, he cares for you like you were his girlfriend.

It also says that, even though you're not his girlfriend, he will sacrifice for you.

..Sounds almost like love....

You are very sweet, for taking into consideration his circumstance. It proves that you're not selfish and have a good heart.
..But why is it $109 on there? Most give cards are in even amounts....Like $100, $150 or something. But $109? Sounds like it may have already been used or something maybe and that he was giving you what was left over? Or is that the amount for the manicure and pedicure together?

Despite that, it doesn't change the thought. Thats what counts. And it was sweet for him to think about giving that to you.

Just keep it. Because it is a gift card and I think they are non-refundable. To make yourself feel better, tell him you'll only use it if he comes along with you...Men need manicures too ya know. ;) Or, just get one treatment and buy him some spa products they have there with the other remaining half.

Return it. You'll feel guilty using it. Tell him you appreciate the sentiment, but you don't feel right taking it.
