Actually, after reading the answers, so far, I would imagine that you are even more confused.

I have been doing a lot of study into this area lately. When a person repents (turns away from) his/her sins and asks Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord of their life, at that point, Christ seals our redemption.

There are certain "doorways" that we may have opened prior to our Salvation, however, that need to be shut and sealed with the blood of Jesus before Satan and his demons have no "legal" grounds to OPPRESS us.

I'm not God, I don't know how everything works, but this is my opinion. Demonic spirits usually come about when you are doing something wrong. If you're a real Christian and you're living your life right and not fooling around with sin then you have no reason for a demonic spirit to enter your life. However, I also believe that a lot of people who say they're Christians aren't.

Actually, Christians are not EXEMPT from demons. They just have the authority to get rid of them. That is a misconception. Think, Jimmy Swaggert. He was a great minister of God, but he faltered with his demon for a short while. He had to overcome it again and keep it in check. Demons fight Christians harder than they do "non-Christians"

I don't think I'm exempt from demons and I'm a christian..I feel we all have to battle our demons everyday. The demons I refer to may be different than yours but we have them just like you the the difference between Christians and non believers is we have God and his strength to help us fight our demons and non believers don't.

We are bothered by demons all the time. Very much so if you are a Christian. that's just satan trying to win us over. Why should satan try getting souls he already has? But, as for being possessed by a demon, they cannot possess us because the Holy Spirit indwells us. He lives in us, and therefore, no demon can enter. But, they do wreak havoc on us all the time! God Bless

I do not believe Christians are exempt from demons. If they have hate and unforgiveness in their heart, if they are jealous, backbiting, liars, it is definitely an avenue for demons to enter. God especially hates pride, and there are many prideful, self righteous Christians walking around today. We have to walk in love, be imitators of Christ, to keep ourselves free from demonic spirits. It is up to us as Christians to follow the teachings of Jesus, and it's not always easy, but he has given us the power to do so, if we use it. God Bless you.

We are not exempt from harassment by demons and we have to constantly remind them that 'I am a child of God and you are a defeated enemy so you need to go away in the name of Jesus Christ my Saviour, Lord and King."

Have you never heard of exorcisms?

Some believe they're too strong in their faith be possessed, or effected by demons. But those people are the ones highest on Satan's list.
