I worked as a temp for a company until they hired me on as a perm, however, they still treat me like I'm a temp. Should I start looking for another job before they lay me off?

For most of the work force, professionalism is something we expect of others while seldom critiquing our own. If you truly were "hired" and not promoted, you need an exclamation point above. If the question mark is appropriate, a casual inquiry to your supervisor should clarify this.

Tell him you would like to "walk and talk" with him when he goes to get a cup of coffee. Explain to him you consider this more of a promotion than a new hire and you hope the company feels the same way. If he says they do, then you can only wait for him to reinforce it personally.

Focus on satisfying the company and some of your peers will follow you. Don't worry about the others. Good Luck.

Hang in there and give it some time. There's eventually going to be another "new" person that'll shift the focus off you.
