Pay depends on the congregation. However, if you are successful in your priesthood, the money won't matter much. In fact, it won't matter at all.
Learn what you can, now. Once you finish high school, at a religious HS if possible, btw, attend religious courses / seminary. Then, you'll probably study under a priest for a time, until you're comfortable on your own.
At that point, you'll join a church as an actual priest, rather than just an apprentice. It may, however, be a while. You may be "called" or "invited" somewhere, by the congregation, or by "the Lord."

Just go and speak to your Parish Priest, call his office and set up an appointment to meet with him some time, he'd love to meet with you! He can tell you everything you need to know from first hand experience. God bless and good luck!

Be patient, sit quietly and wait for my Father to call you. It will be on His terms not yours, He will pay you what you are worth and He will send you where you are not yet ready to enter into.
Christ may have ripped the Vail down that separates us from God in repentance, but God still chooses who will go to work for Him, not man.
Also be very aware that judgment begins at the pulpit, so you had better be willing to teach Gods word as He has lined it out, or you're in for a world of hurt. Which will you choose, A pension from the church or the truth in Gods word?
