Whats the difference? and what plugs they use for these?

I know for Dolby 5.1 you need the 6 plug Outlets.
What plugs you need for DTS?? What they look like

and how do these differ from HD sound?
Are they the same sounds(DTS, Dolby)? and the HD dvds just make them better?

Both DTS and DD (Dolby Digital) are audio codecs.
They both compress multi-channel audio to one bitstream.
They just use different psychoacoustic models to do the compression.
You can use a s/pdif (optical or coax) to send either one to an AV receiver. They both use the same plugs.

In SD DVDs they use Lossy compression (some info is thrown away). In HD DVDs, they can use lossless compression (nothing is thrown away), so the quality is better.
Most people can't tell the difference between the two.

You are not going to hear any difference between Dolby and DTS in HD. The problem is in your system set up. Most system has a volume selector for each channel. Turn the volume up on the center channel speaker in your system. Open the owners manual of your system for direction. Hope this will help you out.
