I just got the new ipod nano. I plugged it into my computer and it says i need to go to itunes.com to download itunes 7.4 or higher. I tried that and it says that it is unable to remove and older version of apple software and it doesn't finish installing. So i go to add or remove programs and try to delete itunes and it says that i am unable to do that because i have a newer version of itunes. I just want to get the newest version of itunes. What do i do?

Try to reboot your machine.

Then remove the older version.

It's sadly obvious you're using Windows, on a Mac you just delete one icon in the Applications folder and it's gone. It seems in your case it's only partially uninstalled which is why it's not working properly now. Go to the C: drive and then Delete the Quicktime folder from the Program FIles folder. Then you should be able to install the new version. Just one more thing - I thought you could just update Quicktime from an option in the system tray context menu, you shouldnn't have to install a whole new version to upgrade it.

Start the computer in SAFE MODE (F8) then uninstall.

You can't uninstall a program when it is running and quicktime starts when the pc starts.
