I've wanted a Nintendo DS Lite since I was 13 (I'm almost 15 now). I kept asking my parents for it every year for Christmas, but I never got one. Then, this year, my 10 year old brother (let's call him Danny) got one. He freaked out when he got it and bragged. When I asked if I could see it, he just said no. And he knows that I've wanted one for two years. I got a camcorder that doesn't even work, and I might not be able to return it. Is this fair? And if I could return it, would it be rude to ask my parents for a Nintendo DS Lite instead (they are the same price)? Thanks to everyone who answers! :) ♥

Danny has only wanted it for about 2 months, because I was looking for it on the computer and he saw it. Then my friend came over with hers. When he saw it, he really wanted one.

There should be no reason you can't return the camcorder. Talk to your parents and ask them if they have the receipt and that you would like to exchange it for a Nintendo DS. But you know what, if you can't and it does work, in a few years you will outgrow the Nintendo and you will still make good use of the camcorder. (that is if it does work. If it doesn't work, there should be a warranty)

Just think of it this way. Next year you wont want it anymore.

No, no I'm just kidding. Maybe your parents just forgot. Make sure if you can return the camcorder or not and if you can then there shouldn't have a problem. There also might be a warranty included with the camcorder if you can't return it. You could get it fixed (or a new one and sell it to buy a DS light).

I understand your point, but honey, some kids don't get anything. Be grateful for what you got. If the camcorder doesn't work, talk to your parents, maybe there is a warranty. I don't understand why you can't return it.

i would ask my parents why they would give my 10 yaer old bother somting i wanted for two years. and even though it sounds a little bit mean but i would ask for the Nintendo DS lite imean they are the same price and if you can't return it just steal/barrow your brothers. i hope this helps.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.

You don't know what Christmas is even about. You sound like an ungrateful brat to me. Anything that doesn't work can be returned.
