ill be honest here, i havent been looking on immigration issues for a while now, but i have heard that Oklahoma has enforced some laws that have to do with hiring "undocumented wokers"....i know that is true, but i am very curious to know if it is actually working....somewhere, i read on an answer which said that Oklahoma has already seen a decrease in "undocomented workers" (or it may have said a decrease in mexicans)..... for so long, nothing has been done about our immigration issues that i find it hard to believe such a thing could or is happening (the decrease in illegals), and i do live in an area where it is a sanctuary for "undocumented" people.
my quesition is though, is it working for Oklahoma?? how have the results been? it would be great to see a viewpoint from an Oklahoma resident.

I live in Oklahoma and have not seen a mass migration from Oklahoma. The intent of the law was to impact the illegal actions of illegal aliens. That has apparently somewhat improved. But, a few weeks ago, my elderly mother was hit in the parking lot of a school by an illegal; the illegal was deemed at fault in the police report, had lived here 11 years, did not speak english, had only a Mexico drivers license, and did not even get a ticket for no Oklahoma driver's license, as an American would have. This is going to be a hard problem for any state to solve, and can only be as effective as our law enforcement funding and resources. It is a cost to the cities to arrest illegals when they run away rather than going to court. We are going to have to change our laws to set bail high enough to cover the fines, then provide more funding for law enforcement. If our borders were secured, we would not have to deal with this. Our Federal government's failure to protect our borders is costing the citizens of our country more than we can pay.

I hear and read it is working.
No need to tolerate illegals be they Mexicanos or otherwise. Simply end the meal ticket.
By the way, Oklahoma has many excellent places to live and nice people living in it.
Somewhat nicer than places like DF or Sur de Frontiera.

Yes it si working and other states are seeing it work as well. Other states are taking the same actions, all states need to impose heavy fines for companies that hire ILELGAL INVADERS. Even impose jail time for the pwoplw doing it.
State and Federal governemtn need to pass a law that requires employers to verify that the documents that people are using to gain employment are LEGAL and not forged or stolen.

Several things are contributing to the increase in illegals leaving. The down turn in the economy, expecially in contruction, lower value of the dollar, lack of employment, increase in immigration enforcement and fear of deportation.

I live in Tulsa OK. and I haven't noticed anything different. At the restaurant that I work at the hiring procedure is tougher, they have to call S.S and verify the numbers. But besides that I haven't see another trail of tears or anything.
