Funny, earlier in the day you were in basic training and wanted out of the military, now you are magically home on leave, eh?
Amazing! Time is really compressed in your dream world, isn't it?

There are two things: recycled and prophile, Your medical expenses shoudl be covered under tricare, if you found a doctor who takes the tricare insurance, but since you were hurt, you probably did not take the time to look for a doctor or ask for one who took the insurance at the time (your military ID card would give them all the info they would need to file a claim with tricare) recycle: means that while you heal, they will give you a second chance and allow you to be recycled thru your training because of your injury.
Prophile: every active duty troops favorite word. means they will give this to you so you can either be out on quarters, so you won't have to show up for work call (to heal) or PT. Most of the time it just means you get out of doing six mile runs, oh yea when you get to your unit active duty, get ready for the six mile runs, if you heal all the way and they don't discharge you, or put you on permanent prophile, but you don't want that because its hard to get SGT rank with a permanent prophile.

When I worked in orthopedics at a basic training post, this happened many times. You need to get copies of all your visits, Xray's and MRI's, etc and bring them back with you to your basic training post. When you go on sick call, they will look at the records, and recommendations made by the civilian MD's, and then make arragements for any further medical care. It may mean you will get recycled, or put out on a medical discharge. As long as you did things by accident, and not misconduct or law breaking activities, then it will be considered "in the line of duty." Good luck!

You may not get discharged, but your contract is based on completion of training in a certain time line. If there is no AIT opening when you are allowed to return to duty, you lose. No bonus either. You will be reassigned at the needs of the service.
Oh yeah...............when did they start giving leave for Christmas for folks in basic?????????

You'll go back to basic, and go to sick call. You DIs will probably make fun of you, and you'll go to PTRP until you heal. Unless the Army doctors want to give you an MEB.
