Here are my personal opinions of the subject:
1. We are all sons of God, m,aybe that's not the way most christians interpret the whole "I'm the son of God" thing. But Jesus himself said we are all sons of God, and that's the way I believe it, Jesus was like any of us can be, but with a more deeper connection with God than the average person. For te majority of the christians however, God's spirit entered in Mary and concieved Jesus, making him of the essence than the father, or he is God incarnate. There are a LOT of theories concerning Jesus nature.
2. As I said before, the spirit of God concieved Jesus inside Mary, this was done before her marriege. It is not uncommun for virgins to have a baby in the old testament and generally all the ancient world. The Messiah must have been born from a virgin according to the profesies, so this was the fullfillment of that prophesy. Did she remained virgin the rest of her life? That's just a matter of faith, and i personally don't think that way.
3. The bible was not God's creation, it was Men's creation. the bilbe of the old testament was radically different from the one of the new. I believe that god may have appeared to the people of Israel, but then they started to associate him with the wrong things and mess up his original message. And that Jesus came to transmit his true message. It is hard for christians to admit the differences between old and new because that would mean the bible is not the word of God, sth taboo in their believes.
4. I think that is not really polytheism since they are not worshiping them, they are just asking them to gide them since they are already in the presence of God.

In order to understand these things you must be able to expand your mind just a bit and not have everything so black and white!
If you believe that God created the world, all that is in it and Adam & Eve, then why are you having such a difficult time believing that God gave the world a Son? No one claimed it was his biological child as far as I am aware.
The same for the Virgin Mary. If God had the power to do all of these things why would he not have the means and the power to impregnate her without disturbing her virginity?
God did not decide his "first version" (the Old Testament) wasn't good enough anymore. God did not write the Bible! The New Testament comes in addition to the Old Testament and explains, through several authors, what Jesus came to do on earth and the tenets He came to bring to the world. Remember that Moses and the 10 Commandments come from the Old Testament so, no, it certainly wasn't thrown out as not good enough. It was simply the description of another time and place in the world.
One does not pray to Jesus as a god! One can pray to Jesus because they love and trust Him but the answers, when they do come, come from God. There is only one God throughout Christendom. Polytheism doesn't enter into this at all since there is but one God. Jews certainly recognize their ancestors like Moses, Jacob, Solomon and others. They may ask any of their forefathers to intercede for them in the eyes of God but they do not pray to them, as you so correctly stated.
Many of the questions you have are valid and have been asked by generations of people that either do not understand or find it all difficult to believe. Many of the answers must be taken on faith and faith alone since so many things that happened in those days are rather inexplicable.

1. How can God have a son?
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God.
2. How can the virgin Mary be a virgin?
Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
3. Why would God decide His 1 st version isn't good enough anymore(old testament) and create a new one, and tell Christians to use both?
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
How can one pray to Jesus, isn't that polytheism? for instance the Jews recognize their ancestors (Moses, Jacob etc) and SOMETIMES when they pray they ASK them to ask God for help, they don't pray to them.
John 16:23 And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, He will give you.
John 16:26 At that day you shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you

These questions are not ones that are easy to answer in a little box on the computer, but let me say just a few things. But honestly, if you want good answers you will have to dig a little...and learn where the best places to dig are.
1) The Son (Jesus) has co-existed with the Father eternally and is referred to as the Son because of his function. He was obedient to the Father.
2) Mary was a virgin because Jesus was conceived in her by a miracle of the Holy Spirit.
3) The OT wasn't written off as being wrong with the arrival of the New Testament. The new covenant that was established in the New Testament was foretold in the Old Testament. It was God's plan all along.
4) This relates to the doctrine of the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each fully God, each separate in person, but yet all One. Yes, it is a mystery. If we could understand God fully, He wouldn't be God would He? I highly recommend the following article for a more thorough address of the topic. http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/AskPastorJohn/ByTopic/117/1442_Can_you_explain_the_doctrine_of_the_trinity_and_its_biblical_support/
The nature of truth demands that there can be only one.
Best wishes to you in your quest for Truth.

Grace to you and peace . Hebrews chapter 11:1-3, says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders(Abraham, Isaac, ect...) obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds (notice it speaks of more than one world) were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. This is telling us God does not want us to have "blind faith", but he wants us to look around and be observant about all creation, and that once we are grounded in our faith we have great hope in the promises of God. The Bible has in it a lot of things that people some times over look, for example the reference in what we just read to there being more then one world. I suggest that you find a Bible teacher that you can understand and trust, it is always better to learn en person, pray and give these questions more study. Peace

I am a Christian who was once an atheist, so, unlike many Christians, I had to think about the same kinds of things when I was learning about Christianity. I had no religious upbringing at all, so all of it was totally new for me.
1. God can have a son only by miraculously impregnating Mary. Whether he created sperm inside of her or whether he created DNA inside of her egg, we do not know, but he fertilized an egg that was in her womb. A God who can create the universe can certainly create DNA and fertilize an egg.
2. The virgin, Mary, was a virgin because she had never laid with a man. Nor did she lay with God. She remained a virgin, that is, her hymen was still intact. No problem for a God who can create things.
3. God's first version was never good enough, if by first version you mean the Mosaic Covenant he had with the people of Israel. He knew that they could not keep the covenant, and, to some extent, that was the point. He wanted them to realize that they could not keep it and they had no hope except for the coming of their Messiah, who WOULD keep the covenant. Still there are many principles that are shown in the Old Testament and these are good principles to follow. That's why God would have us know the Old Testament.
4. Praying to Jesus is not polytheism. There is only one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three in one. One God with three persons. All are God. God is not three but one and he revealed himself as such in the Old Testament as well as in the New Testament. If you read Genesis you will see The Father creating the universe, you will see the Son wrestling with Jacob at the River Jabok, and you will see the Holy Spirit speak from the burning bush. God always refers to himself in the plural because he is plural. He is three in one.

1) "Son of God" is an Old Testament or Judaic scripture term for the "Messiah". The reason the Messiah is divine is because of Isaiah 9:6:
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, [b] Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
2. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the trinity--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit impregnated her by the power of God.
3. As it says in Hebrews, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. How people were saved before Christ came to be on earth: the people looked forward to the coming of the Messiah. They believed or had faith that he was going to come. From Adam up until the time of Abraham, God spoke directly to the people that Messiah was going to come. From Moses up until the prophet Malachi, God gave predictions of the Messiah through the Tanankh or Old Testament. But now since the Messiah has already come who is Jesus Christ, we look to the Savior's redeeming death to save us from second death or hell.
4. According to the book of 1 John in the Bible, Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life. When praying in the name of Jesus, we are praying directly to God.

1: God is God. God can have anything. But - I would qualify that with "all people are God's children."
2: Depends on how you understand the word "virgin." The Greek word used was "parthenos" I believe. But the Hebrew word would have been "alma." These words simply refer to "a young girl." Don't get too hung up on the state of Mary's hymen here!
3: The Church decided, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, that both testaments should be used.
4: Not everyone believes the same thing about praying to Jesus.
This will sound like a copout, but these are Mysteries. Things that the rational, logical mind will not like - but the intuitive and dreaming mind will enjoy playing with. Don't let the rational mind get in the way. Let the intuitive mind dance with these ideas a while. Don't worry about getting all the answers "right." In a lot of cases, there aren't "right" answers; the Spirit moves people in different ways, after all.

Jesus was with God in the beginning, Mary was overcome by the Holy Spirit. He was brought into this world to show that living a holy life is possible.
The Old Testament was of the law-the law was to show us just how much God hated sin and defined exactly what sin was.
The New Testament is of grace- the shedding of animals blood could not cover sins permanently-so God sent His perfect Son to be a last sacrifice, once and for all time.
The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed-
The New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.
We pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus our intercessor.
If God can create a man out of the dust of the ground and a woman from the side of adam -don't you think He could cause Mary to have his Son?

Visit a clergyman ... until then, let this journeyman tell you his thoughts.
1. God can do anything He wants to.
2. Its not too difficult for a virgin to become pregnant when the Holy spirit is involved, no intercourse was required.
3. There are all kinds of prophesies in the Old Testament that tell of the coming of a "Mesiah" to use Old testament language. New does not mean, "new and improved"... it refers more to the new covenant between God and man.
4. The Triune concept, "Three in one, one in three"..... Father, Son and Holy ghost.... Just variations of the same God - Because He can do ANYTHING
When I pray, I pray knowing that only one God is "listening" ... If I pray, mentioning the Holy spirit .... it is still the God of Abraham ... If I pray to Jesus ... It is the very same One.... If I pray to God the father ... Yep .. same guy.
