I do not own a Pentax, but it seems okay for a beginner’s camera. I own a Canon Elan 7, and like all camera I have had some problems with it, but for the most part it is a good camera. Here is a link that might be of better help to you: http://betterphoto.com/reviews/reviewItemDetail.asp?reviewItemID=2682
I would look into reviews on the camera if possible, and be careful because it is eBay. I have been scammed on EBay before, and some deals really are not deals. Sometimes, especially with cameras it is better to buy the camera in person or from a well know source rather than save a few bucks, because there are a lot of scams out there. Good luck with it and I hope it works out for you.
Also, if you have time try look at camera at this web site:
www.bhphotovideo.com
or
www.ritzcamera.com
I have purchased many cameras and lenses from both of these sites and have had nothing but good things to say.
Good luck again

It's a nice looking camera, very stable and what not. The only real 'problem' is that it is silver. No big deal, just more of a preference. The seller did not give a good description on the lens, the f-stop range, or if it was all okay or not, so technically speaking there could be a massive scratch across the main element and you could not do anything about it. The mere thought of him not adding the f-stop range, or much of any information for that matter is not a good sign. eBay is full of scams, so watch out.

Another problem that might arise is the fact that the item is in Australia. If you do not live there, the oversea venture and money exchange might cause a problem.

For no scams and the best quality, go to B&H Photo or KEH.com.

Hope this helps.

A 100 - 300mm lens is very limiting. I wouldn't purchase it unless you own other Pentax lenses.

I havent had good luck with PENTAX. I only use Canon, because it holds up well and has a sweet color balance.

You might look at completed auctions and see.

I do not care for the color or the zoom lens.
