You can get rolls of construction paper and tack that up.
You have to get that from an Art store or a framing store.
They can supply you with flat black tacks as well.
You can also get flat moulding to hide the seams better.
If you can't get that in black, there is spray paint, very easy.
There is also black plexi but your talking money there and alot of invested, time, energy, tools and measuring involved.
Hope this helps.

Outside of using fabric, which is a pain in the neck to do, no, there isn't! Be careful of painting it black though since every imperfection in that ceiling will jump out at you and look terrible unless you use sand paint tinted black. Any dark ceiling or walls, for that matter, must be virtually pristine in order for it to look good. Wallpapering it is also a nightmare unless it's made of heavy vinyl so you won't notice the same imperfections through it. In order to avoid that you can choose something with a slight texture to it or a black on black look.

Tack black fabric up on the ceiling. It can be draped for a more dramatic effect. Tack in the center and along the edges and let the rest balloon loosely.

It depends on how crafty you are or want to be. You can do a ton of stuff your self but it does take some creativity. Try wall stickers. You can find them at Target, the Dollar Store, and IKEA has some amazing ones. Wall stickers adds details without damaging anything or repainting. Its also helpful to decide what YOU want your room to look like. What makes you happy? and go from there. My room and office are filled with plants and flowers because they make me happy when I look at them. What makes your heart happy when you look at it and design from there. Hope that helps!
