Get yourself a "rechargeable power center." The one I picked up contains two outlets for household appliances. I use it as a back-up power supple for my sump pump, but it will power any appliance. Not to give any business to Sam's Club, but the link below will take you to two samples -- I bought the one on the right. It can be used indoors or out. It looks like an over sized boom box.

Erm, plasma Tv or a a large Tv you would need a very f****ng big battery. If it was a smal black and white one, then probably about 8 size D batteries. What sorta questions that anyway? How many battery operated Tvs do you know these days apart from portable ones.

what? a 230volt one? then you would need 20 12volt car batteries connected in series (1 after the other - 20 times 12 = 240 (volts) which would run a 230/240 volt tele for an hour easily. If it is a 12 volt t v then you would only need the one (run it off your car battery!) easy! good luck!

You need to tell what TV you are considering in using!
If its a big crt (old type) then you will need a generator, but if its a small lcd then a couple of AA's will do it.

car battery with a convertor/invertor.. so it converts it from 12 volts..
depends on the size of the telly and type.. crt uses more power due to the tube on it (it amplifies the electricity)
or as anser said.. a petrol generator.

4 AAA rechargeable batteries just charge them for 2 hrs instead of a full charge.
why would you want the telly charged for 1 hr, enlighten me please. +++++++++++++++++++++++++
