I am looking to buy a new handgun. Anyone have any suggestion. Preferable 9mm, and something 'sexy looking'. Links to pictures would be appreciated.

Buying a handgun is not like buying a watch - not sure about the sexy part. What experience do you have? What purpose do you want it for? Have you had professional training? Do you want a large gun or a small gun? Where will you be able to practice?
The best handling 9 mm I've used is the Springfield Armory XD series. It fits the hand extremely well and functions reliably.

Semi-automatic pistols are by definition ugly flat guns.

If you want something with a little elegance, you need a revolver.

You can't go wrong with a medium frame Smith & Wesson such as the M-19 or M-66, both in .357 Magnum. Or a medium large framed M-686 also in .357 Magnum. Barrels of 4" or less are much handier and easier to conceal than the longer barreld models. Add a set of Jordan Trooper Grips from Blu Mountain Grips, especially in ivory, and you have one elegant sixgun.

If you want downright sexy, you need a single-action revolver. If you can afford to get a Model P from the Colt Custom Shop, that is the way to go. I'd suggest the .44 S&W SPL or .45 LC chamberings. If money is a bit tight, you can get very nearly the same classic styling and quality from US Firearms Mfg.

One more thing about single-action revolvers. Bad guys tend to steer away from a fellow packing a single-action. Perhaps they figure a guy packing an old hogleg rather than a high capacity ugly gun knows what he's doing and that he doesn't mind dropping hammer if the need arises. Or perhaps when in the quite of a tense situation a man thumbs back that big old hammer, the clicks that to a single-action man spell out C-O-L-t sounds more like D-E-A-d to the man looking down the gaping maw of a .44 or .45 caliber revolver.

The best two (2)* choices for your personal protection are the 45 acp or 357 Magnum.* You can also shoot 38 caliber ammo in a 357 Magnum.* You get two (2)* handguns for the price of one.* I prefer the Colt or Smith & Wesson Brands.* These two (2)* calibers are proven man stoppers.* Forget about the 9mm no one should consider anything less than a 357 Magnum for self-defense.*

If you are buying a handgun for looks or too impress, you are buying a firearm for the wrong reason. These are deadly weapons and should be treated with the utmost respect. Whether they look good on the range or in a self-defence situation should not matter one bit. Sure, everyone wants something that looks halfway decent, but consider that what you are buying the gun for. Maybe target shooting or self defense for which you want the most accurate gun with the most power that you can accurately shoot. An assailant is not going to care what "Gucci" gun you have in your hand as you pull the trigger to neutralize his/her attack..Be real and make sure you get some training in firearms handling.

I am not a big fan of 9mm but I do own one that I carry with me in urban situations.

Here she is. The most sexy and functional 9mm on the market. She is made by Tanfoglio

Several variants

I think the Glock is the best self loading pistol on the market. I've been carrying either the 21 in 45 acp or the 23 in 40 s&w everyday for the last 15 years or so. I have tried the others but none feel as good to me as the Glock. Not to mention that I have shot approximately 40,000 rounds through my 4 glocks in that time frame and have no problems other than worn out magazines. You need to go to an indoor range where they will let you shoot several different models and see which one feels the best in your hand. As long it is made by a reputible company, you should be OK. Good luck and take a kid shooting, they are the future of all our shooting sports.

look at beretta the new 90 two (not 92), HK is one of the best makers, I own one, they call them superglocks. Springfield XDs, sig arms.Tauras makes an affordable duty type the 24/7. go to www.gunsamerica.com they have EVERYTHING. go crazy. and try some out before you buy anything. the gun has to fit you. try to find a gun range that will let you rent guns.

Sexy? Since when is a handgun "sexy"? Good grief! Look, your local gun dealer will have catalogs for you to look at and make your selection from. I suggest that's where you start.
"Sexy handguns". Sheesh! It takes all kinds...

Try shooting a 2x4 w/ a 9mm and then with a .357, 40 S&W, .45ACP or even 357SIG, and you'll see why.
