and he was fixing to die, would god die along with him?

(of course this is hypothetical, and really only for the induction of thought...so, THINK!)

It depends on how you define "god".

if you define god as a human invention (as I do) then the "death" of god occurred with the death of the last believer, not the last PERSON.

If you believe that god exists, I doubt very much that god's existence would be contingent upon the survival of humans.

Good ontological question. I think you mean, would the concept or idea of god cease to exist with the death of last concious mind that can conceive the thought.

I love how you used an antheist instead of a theist. That made this question much more interesting. The question would only work if in fact god did not exist. Thus, it indirectly points out the logical conclusion that existance of god cannot be argued in the most strict sense of ontology.

P.S. It's sort of the off the topic but this is the reason most thinkers changed their postion from atheism to agnosticism. (i.e. Bertrand Russell).

God is dead. Nieztsche said so. And he is more right than Mussolini.

But yeah, probably. Until new organisms came along and needed primitive explanations for why things are the way they are because they would not have science to explain it yet.

History only repeats itself...

God is the Alpha and the Omega. He will exist beyond the last man, who He created. God would love him despite his rejection of his Creator.
Merry Christmas!

Interesting. A star for you!

I agree with Traveler and have nothing to add to his reply.

if the last thing alive was an atheist, god would have died with the last theist.
