Roughly 545,000 active duty personnel:
- 350,000 in the Army
- 18,000 in the Navy
- 52,000 in the Air Force
- 125,000 in the Revolutionary Guards (consisting of its own ground forces, Navy and Air Force)

Iran also has a volunteer paramilitary force that is not formally part of the military - the Basij. Most are not even armed and are usually ill-trained. In the event of war, they can supply:
- 90,000 uniformed, active duty members
- 300,000 reservists
- 11,000,000 volunteers for human wave attacks and mine clearing (I'm not joking)

Nothing the Air Force couldn't handle!

What Air Force does Iran have? I imagine a B-52, A-10, a few fighters and an AC-130U gunship could make short work of the Iranians in little time.

Try Jane's, a pretty comprehensive compendium of the world's millitary.

They aren't going to go toe to toe if Gorgeous George gets his waya nd invades. Expect some nasty hikes in oil prices, some sneaky stuff in the US homeland, lots of rockets in the Persian Gulf and a big increase in truly deadly attacks around the world.

545000 Trained Soldiers.110000 voluntary trained workers to support army.It is the most well orgsanised Army in the middle east. But there is Air Force to support the Army.Infrastructure like roads and communication is poor. But Iranian Army is fit to fight most difficult terrains and climate of Iran.In a land war US Army cannot withstand Iran Army.

the little i know , i`ll tell you
they have a huge army on the ground
weopans are some what old but fully functioning
the iranian enemy is basically Israel as far as range is concerned, so inter galactic missiles--they dont have ;o)

what the Iranians have done is not update all their weopans but a selective few...i urge you to google "the sunburn missile", they have many of these missiles bought from russia, this missile has no defence so far....if you google, it says any navy fleet US or israeli could be wiped out entirely using the sunburn- short distance killer travelling at mach 2.5

The last time that happened to poor old Saddam was "We sink and swim together with I will follow him"
But when the real thing happened.
All the little goldfish disappear.
Leaving poor old Saddam on his own.
Standing out there all alone.
Will the same thing happen again?
When Top-gun zoom in with "Take my breathe away"
Have to wait and see what Tatoo has to say.
When he call out " Boss! a plane! a plane!"
Just make sure it's not Top-gun.
Luke 8.10,17
What do you think?

Three enlisted, a trained chimp and a WWII Jeep. The chimp is the only one with a weapon.

I read that the Pentagon created a plan and as little as 1,200 sorties could cripple their entire military.

their military strength are probably one of the strongest in the middle east if you put aside the US military bases in the Gulf State..not that strong but still..they have the Russians behind their backs..so..better be careful..lol..

if Bushehr Nuclear plant to be destroyed..it'll sure made those Russians angry..or something like that..
